Privacy notice
Last updated 8 October 2026.
Who is responsible
Nora Kemble (a pen name), nora@norakemble.com. This notice covers norakemble.com and thelastgoodspring.com, which share one email list.
What is collected
Only when you sign up to hear when the book is out:
- your email address;
- the date and time you signed up and confirmed, and the exact consent wording you agreed to;
- which of the two sites you used;
- a hashed version of your IP address (a salted one-way hash, never the address itself), used only to limit abuse of the form.
Nothing else is stored about you. There is no tracking and no analytics.
Why, and on what basis
To send you one email when The Last Good Spring is out, and occasional news about Nora’s books. The basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box and confirming through the link in the confirmation email. You can withdraw it at any time.
How long it is kept
Until you unsubscribe. After that, only a suppression record is kept: your address and the date, so that you are not added again by mistake. Addresses that never confirm are not mailed again and are deleted on request. To have everything about you deleted, including the suppression record, write to nora@norakemble.com.
Where it is stored, and who helps
The list is stored in Cloudflare D1, in a database owned by Nora. The sites are hosted by Cloudflare, which also runs the bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) on the sign-up form: your browser contacts challenges.cloudflare.com when the page loads, and Cloudflare handles the technical data for that check under its own privacy policy. Emails are sent through Resend. Both companies act as processors for the list. Your data is not sold or used for anything else.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data held about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or receive a copy. You can withdraw consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
To ask for anything above, write to nora@norakemble.com.
